Guided Tour
Arrive in Lerwick, where your guide will greet you at the ferry terminal at 08:30 for the first of two days exploring Shetland’s northernmost treasures. Begin your journey with a scenic drive to the UK’s northernmost point, starting with a photo stop at the impressive Sullom Voe Oil Terminal. From there, take a short ferry ride to Yell and travel along the scenic east coast road to Cullivoe, where you’ll visit the Old Haa Museum. This fascinating museum is filled with unique artifacts showcasing the lives of the islanders, and you’ll enjoy tea, coffee, and cake during your stop.
Continue your adventure with another short ferry crossing to Unst, a picturesque island known for its stunning beaches and rich RAF history. Enjoy a hearty soup and sandwich lunch at North Unst Public Hall. Afterward, visit Muckle Flugga, the northernmost point of the UK, for breathtaking views. Explore the Unst Boat Haven and see the Skidblander, a replica Viking longship, along with a traditional Viking longhouse. Arriving in the evening at the Brea hotel where you will stay for the next 2 nights.
Guided Tour
On the second day of your guided adventure, your guide will meet you at your hotel reception to begin exploring the stunning Northwest corner of Shetland. The day starts with a scenic drive north, where you’ll witness the striking sea stacks known as “The Drongs.” Next, visit the dramatic Eshaness Lighthouse and cliffs, offering breathtaking views of Shetland’s rugged coastline—an ideal spot for photographs.
After taking in the scenery, enjoy a relaxing coffee break at the cosy Braewick Café before heading south. Along the way, you’ll pass one of Shetland’s rare tree plantations and cut through the Tingwall Valley, rich with Norse history. A special highlight of the day is a visit to Carol's Ponies, where you'll meet Shetland’s famous four-legged residents. Carol, a lifelong Shetland pony breeder, will share her passion and knowledge of these delightful creatures.
En route to Lerwick, capture panoramic views of the Shetland archipelago before stopping in Lerwick town center for a quick lunch. The afternoon takes you to Fladdabister and then Mousa, home to the world’s best-preserved Iron Age Broch, before continuing to the rugged Atlantic coast. Enjoy a photo stop at Rerwick’s pristine white beaches, where seals may make an appearance.
Conclude your day at Jarlshof, an archaeological marvel spanning 5,000 years of history. Along the way, your local guide will share insights into Shetland’s rich culture and heritage before returning to Brae.
