The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is an annual event held each August on the esplanade of Edinburgh Castle. Established in 1950, it showcases a blend of military precision, music, and cultural performances from around the world. Audiences are treated to displays by the Massed Pipes and Drums, international military bands, and artistic teams, all set against the historic backdrop of the castle. The event also features cutting-edge lighting, sound, and projection mapping, enhancing the visual spectacle.
Each performance concludes with a fireworks display, adding to the grandeur of the occasion. The Tattoo attracts over 200,000 spectators annually and is broadcast to millions worldwide, making it a highlight of Scotland's cultural calendar.
