Edinburgh is a brilliant city to explore in your free time, with famous sights close together and plenty of choice depending on what you fancy doing. The Royal Mile is a great starting point for a wander, running through the heart of the Old Town with historic closes, shops and cafés along the way, and Edinburgh Castle sitting proudly above it for those classic city views.
If you’d rather keep things a bit more relaxed, Princes Street Gardens is ideal for a gentle stroll right in the centre, and George Street nearby has great shopping and places to stop for food and drink. You can also head over to the Grassmarket for a lively atmosphere and photo spots, or enjoy a walk up Calton Hill if you’d like an easy viewpoint without a long climb.
