The walk to the arena is via Castlehill, the old cobbled approach to the Esplanade on a steep incline and consequently may prove difficult for some. In addition there are five or so steps to negotiate to reach the front rows of all spectator stands in the arena where, generally the seating is quite steeply
tiered.
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo
The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is an annual event held each August on the esplanade of Edinburgh Castle. Each performance concludes with a fireworks display, adding to the grandeur of the occasion. The Tattoo attracts over 200,000 spectators annually and is broadcast to millions worldwide, making it a highlight of Scotland's cultural calendar.
