Set above the River Nidd, Knaresborough brings together a historic market square, winding streets and a picturesque riverside. Its castle ruins overlook the valley, with the viaduct providing one of the town’s most memorable views.
Browse the traditional shops, find a café or head towards the river for a different view. The town is also known for Mother Shipton’s Cave and the Petrifying Well, where mineral-rich water gradually coats objects in a stone-like layer.
