Your Itinerary: Days 1-3
Your journey begins in Passau, the historic "Three Rivers City," where the Danube, Inn, and Ilz meet. After boarding the MS Viva Two, settle into your luxurious cabin and enjoy the first evening on board as you set sail towards Austria.
Arriving in Krems, a UNESCO-listed town in the heart of the Wachau Valley, you’ll have time to explore its charming medieval streets, picturesque squares, and historic landmarks. Surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills, Krems is a perfect introduction to Austria’s scenic beauty and winemaking heritage.
The next stop is Vienna, where you’ll take in the grandeur of Austria’s imperial capital on a guided city tour. Pass by iconic landmarks such as the State Opera, Hofburg Palace, and the elegant Ringstrasse before enjoying free time near St. Stephen’s Cathedral. Take a leisurely stroll along Kärntner Strasse, lined with boutiques and cafés, and soak up the timeless charm of this cultural capital before returning to the ship.
Your Itinerary: Days 4-5
Wake up to the stunning skyline of Budapest, where a guided city tour takes you through the heart of Hungary’s capital. Cross the Chain Bridge to explore both Buda and Pest, stopping at Gellert Hill for breathtaking views before discovering the Castle District, Matthias Church, and Fisherman’s Bastion. Admire the grand Parliament Building and stroll through Heroes’ Square before enjoying some free time to soak up the city’s unique charm.
Sailing onwards, you’ll reach Komarom, a hidden gem on the Danube. This riverside town is home to an impressive 19th-century fortress system, Roman ruins, and relaxing thermal baths. Enjoy a leisurely afternoon exploring before continuing towards Bratislava. Here, the Gothic-Baroque old town invites you to wander its charming streets, visit historic sites like Michael’s Gate, and admire the restored Primatial Palace. A Slovak beer tasting offers the perfect way to experience the city’s rich brewing heritage before reboarding your ship for the next leg of your journey.
Your Itinerary: Days 6-7
Your cruise continues into Austria’s Wachau Valley, arriving in the historic town of Melk. The highlight here is the breathtaking Melk Abbey, a baroque masterpiece perched above the river. Explore its ornate imperial chambers, the grand Marble Hall, and the world-renowned library, home to ancient manuscripts and stunning frescoes. A stroll through the abbey’s elegant gardens offers a peaceful moment before returning to the ship for your final sail.
Returning to Passau, you’ll disembark with time to reflect on a journey filled with rich history, breathtaking scenery, and indulgent luxury. From here, you’ll begin your journey home, with a stay in a 4-star hotel before your overnight sailing back to the UK, bringing your unforgettable Danube cruise to a relaxing close.
