How our Amsterdam Mini Cruise works
Every Amsterdam Mini Cruise follows the same simple pattern – coach to Newcastle, overnight sailing to the Netherlands, time in Amsterdam and an overnight sailing home. The main difference between our options is whether your fare is cabin-only with an optional meal package, or whether dinner and breakfast are already included both ways.
Coach + overnight DFDS sailings
Join the coach at pickups across Scotland and the north of England. We travel to the DFDS terminal in Newcastle, where you board the ship for an overnight sailing to IJmuiden. A private inside cabin with bunk beds is included as standard, with outside cabins and level-bed options available at a supplement and subject to availability.
Time to explore Amsterdam
After breakfast on board, you will re-join the coach for the short journey into Amsterdam. You then have around four hours free time to enjoy the canals, museums, markets and cafés at your own pace before returning to the ship. It is enough time for a canal cruise, a museum visit and a relaxed wander through some of the central neighbourhoods.
Pricing, deposits & protection
Prices start from just £99pp for cabin-only mini cruises, with inclusive meal departures starting higher. We use fluid, dynamic pricing, so fares can increase as coaches and cabins fill. A per person deposit is usually paid at booking, with the balance due closer to departure. All customer payments are held in an independent Trust Account until you have returned from your trip.

DFDS – overnight comfort
DFDS ships on the Amsterdam Mini Cruise route combine comfort and entertainment. As you sail overnight you can dine in the restaurants, relax in the bar, enjoy live music or a film and browse the duty free shop before heading back to your cabin to sleep.
